Las Vegas Raiders have signed former Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss
The Raiders have signed Patriots RFA LB Christian Elliss to an offer sheet, per The Wire. The Patriots have until Monday to match it, although it’s highly doubtful that they do, especially since they just signed an LB hours before the Raiders signed Elliss to an offer sheet.
Elliss received the right of first refusal tender from the Patriots. He was undrafted, so that means that New England receives no compensation if they don’t match the offer sheet. With limited snaps in his first five years in the NFL, first three years with the Eagles and last two years with the Patriots, when given the chance to play, he has always done fairly decent for the most part and could be a solid addition to the silver and black. He just turned 26 years old in January as well, so he’s still pretty young with a lot left in the tank. Last season, he played 16 games, which is the most of his young career. He had a career year in those 16 games with 80 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 6 passes defended, 6 QB hits, 2 tackles for loss, while also adding 10 pressures, 17 stops and only allowed a 93.8 QBR, all career highs.
